Birds & Batteries

San Francisco's Birds & Batteries are a band that a mutual friend introduced me to about a year ago. This summer, they sent me a preview copy of their new CD and I became even more of a fan. I'll Never Sleep Again is a gorgeous album mixing classic country landscapes and pedal steel with elements of electronica. It's different from anything that you have heard and it's a personal favorite of mine. The disc officially came out last Tuesday and they are on a US tour supporting it. They'll be in DC at Velvet Lounge tonight.
