Thursday Shows


Beachwood Sparks hasn't been heard of much since the '90s. Now they are back on tour to celebrate SubPop's 20th anniversary. Playing a very limited tour, Thursday at Johnny Brenda's in Philly is the only IA area show. Opening is the "hippie soaked space rock" of The Willowz and another SubPop artists, Sera Cahoone.

Also in Philly, humorous English pop-punk band The Wombats, noted as "the next Arctic Monkeys", are playing the First Unitarian Church. Joining the show is Spring Tigers, an electronic outfit from the music mecca of Athens, GA.

Martha Wainwright, daughter of Loudon and sister of Rufus, is supporting a new album and playing the World Cafe.

Welsh band Stereophonics are also on tour with a new album Pull The Pin. Catch them at 9:30 Club.

Baltimore band Thank You is heading down to DC9 for a show.
