Theresa Andersson

It’s a little unfair, because Theresa Andersson is half Swedish, which means there’s virtually no way that I won’t like her. But, I only noticed this fact after I listened to her music for a few minutes and already decided I liked the sweet indie pop coming out of my speakers, so bias averted. The New Orleans performer grew up on a wool spinnery in Sweden. She recorded all of her album, Hummingbird, Go! in her kitchen and regularly recreates it for a live audience. My tiny indie soul is in multi-instrumental heaven. Check out an mp3 and tons of regional dates below.

I have to say, her indie pop sound are a great driving factor for her. Her music is simply to die for!

In regards to recording everything in her kitchen, you have to check out her videos! I had no idea what she actually was like until I watched one of those videos. My personal favorite is Birds Fly Away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMXqn42AykM

As well, I also think that Theresa does a great job at telling a story through her music.

I hope that you got a chance to see Theresa at one of those dates!

If you liked her videos then you would really like her live shows, they are amazing and truly unique. She’ll be on the Conan O’Brien Show upcoming on Feb. 4, 2009. Its sure to be her best performance yet. Check out her myspace to see if she will be in your area anytime soon http://www.myspace.com/theresaanderssonmusic.
