As a teenager, the Los Angeles-based singer songwriter Amy Kuney, was uprooted from her typical, Midwestern home and transplanted to Honduras by her missionary family. That alone is enough to grab my attention; then I saw a video of her performing with Damien Rice and I was all ears. Her You-Tube cover of his song “Blower’s Daughter” won her a spot on stage with him, in Iceland, (see the winning video below) and no doubt opened the door to many future opportunities.
