Ingrid Michaelson

**Editor's Note: This is a bump of a previous post. Ingrid is now coming back through the IA area and will be in Towson at The Recher Theater on Thursday 6/19. If you enjoy poppy songs with heartfelt and well-written lyrics, then I highly recommend this show. She engages the crowd constantly, breaks into TV theme songs and tells silly stories between songs. A very good show.**

Remember the Old Navy sweater campaign last fall with that uber-catchy song "The Way I Am", but you couldn't name the artist? Her name is Ingrid Michaelson and she is kicking off her first headlining tour tonight in Philly at the TLA. Discovered on Myspace, featured in Grey's Anatomy and catapulted into the charts with said Old Navy commerical, Ingrid has performed on major talk shows, like Leno, Conan, Regis & Kelly, and Good Morning America. She has been invited to major festivals this summer and also garnered an opening spot on a few dates of the Dave Matthews Band upcoming tour.

Breakable

If you’re into Ingrid definitely check out Greg Laswell, another indie singer/songwriter. They were both on the Hotel Cafe Tour together and although his music has a bit of a sadder sound, it should appeal to the same people. His newest song is called “How the Day Sounds” and it’s on his Myspace page and almightyjukebox.com
