The Best Doctors ARE Dealers

Have the late winter/early spring, crappy weather blahs got you down? Are you ready for spring to fricking make up its mind and come out in full bloom already? Well, I'm afraid I don't have the power to bring about such meteorological changes, but I can offer you some sugary pop goodness straight from Sweden to help in the meantime. Doctors & Dealers, the Stockholm band comprised of the lovely and darling Sparrow (I can't make this stuff up, people. Well, I probably could, but what would be the point?) and, well, Sparrow, has enough Vitamin D in her voice to drag even the most downtrodden into happier spirits.

Ms. Sparrow is a charming soprano full of confectionary goodness. Her instrumentation is sparse, relying pretty much on Casio-sounding keys and a drum machine, but that doesn't detract from the sound. Instead, it somehow gives an even cuter edge to her quirky lyrics. She apparently has a penchant for whistling, too, as it's there on every track I've sampled from her debut, Confessions of a Drunken Mind, released on her own Bluesong label. The CD drops daintily on April 22, but here's a taste to bring you out of those less-than-stellar-weather doldrums.
