Kate Nash

If you are like me, you may scroll the 9:30 Club weekly e-mail to see the soft sell pre-sales and jump on them like frat boys on beer. One show that caught my eye, was Kate Nash on April 17. She will be venturing across the pond this spring to promote her album Made of Bricks. What better way to celebrate this canned holiday, then to get out of your chair and dance to “Foundations.” Come on, everyone has had one of those relationships. Her lyrics are raw, honest and above all satisfying. They are as clever as The Streets, yet she has the playful optimism of Belle & Sebastian. She says what’s on her mind, reflecting on those moments of clarity when you know the other person is half way out the door, or you are.
