Or, The Whale

It is weird how it works. Sometimes you stumble upon a band, sometimes they seek you out and occasionally, you have mutual friends that put you in touch. The third scenario is how I became aware of San Francisco's Or, The Whale. I was introduced to them last fall and have been a fan of their hybrid of indie rock and country ever since. They have recently released Light Poles and Pines. The band is supporting this excellent CD with a US tour. They are on the road now and they'll be in the region over the next couple of days. If you get the chance, go check them out. Or, The Whale is one of my favorite discoveries of the past year and I highly recommend them.
