The Dance Party

July 27 saw the release of Friction! Friction! Friction! by DC favorites, The Dance Party. Say what you want about these guys and the artistic merit of their music, but the kids love them. September 8 will mark their third appearance at 9:30 Club in a little over 6 months. That doesn't happen everyday. The question is, what is so appealing about them?

As the new album showcases, they are all about the fun. They have arena ready anthems straight from the 80's. Songs Like "Lipstick" and "Ultra Radical" scream party. Their music makes you dance and it's all about having a good time. While their songs may be full of cliches, they back them with solid musicianship. It actually takes talent to pull off all of those over the top guitar solos and they make them look easy.

If you are looking for the next Radiohead, keep searching. If you are looking for the perfect soundtrack for your next kegger, you have found your guys.
