Yep, it's yarn. The video was shot by the band at Will's (the singer) parent's house in New England.

Ah that explains the surroundings. reminds me of the "This Charming Man" video, except with string instead of roses... and in a bourgie suburban home instead of a sparsely furnished washedout basement... but it's close.
