This Weekend in The ATX

Mike is a little under the weather, so he asked me to finish up the week for him. Let me know what I missed, because I am sure that it is quite a bit.

On Friday night, local bands Go Nova, Black Before Red and The Channel are joined by Baton Rouge's The Eames Era for a great show at The Mohawk. The Always Already make their way to the Rhizome Collective and San Antonio's Buttercup play at Cafe Mundi and do an instore at Waterloo Records. Del Tha Funkee Homosapien makes his way to Emo's and the Flamingo Cantina has a local show with lalaland,The Last Gasp and My Education.

Citizen Cope brings his funky rhythms to La Zona Rosa for a two night residency on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday also has two great shows at Stubb's. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs play and there is also a late show featuring Athens, GA's The Whigs. Emo's has a solid bill that includes Aberdeen City, Electric Six and The Blue Van. The Black Angels play to what should be a packed house at The Mohawk.
