The First Week of October in the Baltimore Region

Who else cannot believe that it is freaking October already? While it may suck that we will be freezing our asses off in a few weeks, not all of the news is bad. The Baltimore region's fall concert influx is in full swing and continues this week.

The Hold Steady

The week begins with a solid Monday. Elf Power and Water School bring the indie rock to The Talking Head. The Hold Steady and Sean Na Na take over the Ottobar. Steel Pulse showcase their classic reggae rhythms to Sonar.

French Kicks

Tuesday night has French Kicks, The Little Ones and The Oranges Band at Black Cat. Ratatat, Envelopes and Panther play there on Wednesday.

Snowden

Thursday brings Snowden to DC9. The Oranges Band and The Payola Reserve play WTMD's last First Thursday free concert of the year, in Mount Vernon Park.

Social D

The legendary Social Distortion plays Sonar on Friday. Baltimore's Muscle Twin bring their great indie sound to The Sidebar.

Middle Distance Runner

Saturday has a lot going on. The Baltimore Music Conference is at Druid Hill Park and features The Seldon Plan, The Payola Reserve, Cedars, Telograph and The Gaskets. Our friends Middle Distance Runner play Velvet Lounge with The Dance Party, Pawns and E. Joseph. Medications, Channels and Victory at Sea play The Talking Head. If you can't catch them Saturday, the same line-up plays Black Cat on Friday. Various artists play the 40th Annual Fell's Point Fun Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
