This Week In Austin: The Non ACL Fest Edition
Yes, this week is all about the Austin City Limits Festival. As the week progresses, Mike will preview all 3 days of the festival and all 4 nights of the pre and post shows. Beginning Friday night, he will offer nightly recaps of the Festival and any post shows that he makes it to. He is so occupied with everything ACL, that he asked me to help out and cover everything that isn't ACL Fest related. What follows, is my best attempt at doing this. If I miss anything, please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail or post a comment. I do not pretend to know the first thing about the Austin music scene. Mike will be back with normal coverage next week.

The week starts off quietly with local singer songwriter David Garza playing at Cactus Cafe on Monday. He has a residency there for every Monday in the month of September.

Local indie bands Benko and For Those Who Know will be at Chain Drive on Wednesday. Gnarls Barkley will be performing an invite only free show at Stubbs that night.

Sufjan Stevens and My Brightest Diamond will be at Paramount Theatre on both Friday and Saturday evening.
That would be it. Everything else is ACL Fest related. In addition to the fest, pretty much every major club in town is booked with pre and post shows from Thursday through Sunday.
David Garza - Ready To Fly
Benko - B Movie Production
For Those Who Know - Night At The Dance Club
Gnarls Barkley - Gone Daddy Gone
Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
Sufjan Stevens - Sister Winter (new song)
My Brightest Diamond - Something of an End
