Hour of the Shipwreck

Los Angeles band Hour of the Shipwreck focuses on all things fantastic. From complicated arrangements to song setting to inspiration, they’re purposely not sticking to the straight and narrow. Their debut full-length release, The Hour is Upon Us (available on their MySpace), boasts of an underlying influence in film, particularly the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the extraordinary animated work of Hayao Miyazaki. To capture the cinematic mood on the The Hour is Upon Us, Shipwreck wrote for a choir, strings, and brass and merged them with the rock quintet, giving the album a production value above and beyond the aforementioned road. They play out in LA this month and hopefully they will make it east soon.
